Jori Lehterä (born December 23, 1987) is a Finnish professional ice hockey centre. He was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the 3rd round (65th over all) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Lehterä is now playing with HC Sibir Novosibirsk in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Career

Lehterä dominated the Jokerit junior team in scoring, and earned himself a place on the team's SM-liiga roster in the fall of 2006. Lehterä was selected to represent Finland at the 2006 World Under-20's Championships in Sweden,[1] but could not play due to an injury. In April 2007, he signed a three-year contract with Tappara.[2] Lehterä left his homeland Finland and his club Tappara on March 16, 2009 and signed with the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League,[3] the St. Louis Blues' farm team. In 2009, he returned to play for Tappara. He was voted for the MVP of the regular season.[4] He scored 19 goals and assisted 50.

He was drafted in the third round, 65th overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues.

Lehterä's uncle is Tero Lehterä, a member of Finland's 1995 Ice Hockey World Championships gold medal team.
